Phasmophobia was released via Steam early access just last month and it’s certainly been making waves as one of the most popular games to play during the spooky season. There’s no way to attack or fight back when you encounter the paranormal in Phasmophobia, but you can bet that it is absolutely possible for you to die in this game. And when that happens, you become a ghost and your screen changes, and it looks like you’re in Silent Hill.

What to Do as a Ghost When Dead in Phasmophobia

When this happens, assuming you’ve only been using in-game voice chat with your teammates, you will no longer be able to communicate with them. In fact, you won’t be able to interact with very much in the environment at all, and you can only walk around to observe your surroundings.

With the current early access build, there’s not much to do as a ghost when you die, but it’s entirely possible that the developers could add more features for dead players later on.

If you are using third-party chat applications with your team, though, you can be an invaluable member. However, this goes against the spirit of the game, and it’s definitely recommended that you don’t try to assist your team in any way once you die if you want to keep things challenging for them.

For instance, as a ghost, you can now act as a safe member of the team to help check for ghost writing or other strange occurrences in the level while they stay in the van to keep their sanity levels high. Alternatively, you can also be the one to stay in the van to keep an eye on activity levels, sanity levels, as well as the video camera. But aside from that, there’s not much else you can do.

Finally, if you do die, make sure to remind your team to snap a photo of your dead body for extra money at the end of the level.

That’s all you need to know about what you can do as a ghost when dead in Phasmophobia. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
