Xbox One Game – Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice

Xbox Games with Gold Predictions

It’s time for some Xbox Games with Gold free games predictions, and kicking off the list is our pick for a possible Xbox One game inclusion.

For the current month of August 2020, we got Portal Knights between Aug 1 – 31, MX Unleashed from Aug 1 – 15, Red Faction 2 from Aug 16 – 31, and Override: Mech City Brawl from Aug 16 – Sept 15.

For September 2020, adventure game Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice from Ninja Theory is looking like a very possible choice for a couple reasons.

Firstly, the game is currently on sale for one more week (around the time when Game with Gold games are picked) for 40% off lowering its price to just $17.99, the lowest it’s been on Xbox One for over eight months.

Microsoft has a history of offering games for sale right up until the free games announcement, in the hopes of getting a few more purchases out of the game before it is offered for free.

Secondly, Ninja Theory has been acquired by Microsoft since Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice’s release in 2017. Meaning it would be much easier for Microsoft to offer this title for free since it is under its umbrella as a publisher.

Finally, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice released in 2017 and Microsoft often gives a game two to three years on its console before opting to offer it for free. With Hellblade’s popularity it gained when it did release three years ago, it would make sense for Microsoft to consider it as a Games with Gold title in 2020 to make Xbox fans happy.

Xbox 360 Game – Battlefield 4

After an Xbox One game, usually a Xbox 360 title accompanies the list as well. For September 2020, we predict Battlefield 4 from DICE and EA would be a logical choice.

There are numerous games in the Battlefield series, starting with Battlefield 1942 back in 2002 to the most recent Battlefield V in 2018.

Several entries in the Battlefield series have actually already been included on Games with Gold, including Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in October 2014, Battlefield 3 in September 2017, and Battlefield 1 in November 2018.

Since it is likely still too early to include Battlefield V on Games with Gold, and Microsoft doesn’t often skip entries in the series to add on the free platform regardless, this leaves Battlefield 4 as the next more likely choice in the series.

Microsoft often includes DICE and EA games as the Xbox 360 pick in Games with Gold lineups outside the Battlefield series as well, including:

  • Mirror’s Edge in September 2016,
  • Star Wars Battlefront II in April 2019
  • Star Wars Battlefront in February 2020.

Make sure to check back with Twinfinite in the next week or so when the Xbox Games with Gold free games for September 2020 are officially revealed.
