Despite being released in 2017, CoD WW2 is resurging as of late thanks to the fact that it is free on PS Plus. Regardless of what you’re playing on, difficulty is always going to be the same across the game’s campaigns. Here is everything you need to know about how to change difficulty in CoD WW2.
How to Change Difficulty in CoD WW2
Whenever you start any mission in CoD WW2, you’ll be given an option to select the difficulty. You can choose between the following:
- Recruit (Easiest)
- Regular
- Hardened
- Veteran (Hardest)
This can be adjusted from the main menu at any point.
Unlike most shooters, changing the difficulty setting midgame in CoD WW2 isn’t as straightforward as hopping in the main menu and switching it over. Instead, you only have two options if you want to adjust it.
The first is to simply exit the mission and restart. Once you do, go back into the options and change it to whatever playstyle fits you best.
What is frustrating about this choice is that it means you’ll have to restart the mission from scratch.
Your other option is to grind through on whatever difficulty you’re currently on and change it at the main menu for the next mission.
Keep in mind that if you’re trying to get a difficutly-based achievement or trophy, you will need to play the mission on that rank to unlock it.
How to Change Difficulty in CoD WW2:
- Adjust at the start from the main menu before each mission.
- Changing in-game requires you to exit the mission or finish.
Progress is lost by exiting the mission, so be sure you want to change it before leaving.
