An important part of making your island in Animal Crossing New Horizons completely personalized is to set a custom island tune and flag. If you’re not sure how to create your own, here’s how to change your island tune and flag in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Your island tune plays at different parts of the game, such as talking to villagers and at the top of every hour. Your island flag can be customized to your liking and it is flown outside of the resident services building.
How to Change Island Tune & Flag in Animal Crossing New Horizons
To be able to change both your island tune and flag, you must first upgrade Resident Services from a tent to a building, which happens after completing approximately a week’s worth of Tom Nook’s daily tasks.
Once Resident Services is its own building, speak with Isabelle inside by sitting on the chair in front of her desk. She will give you the option to change both your island tune and flag.
For your island tune, you get 16 notes to compose a melody. Select each note to change its pitch until you are satisfied with how the tune sounds. Isabelle will preview it by singing it, which is incredibly adorable, and it will be set as your island tune.
As for your island flag, you can use a custom design much like the custom patterns you can use for clothes. First, you must design a pattern using your Nook Phone, or you can use a default pattern. Once you’ve selected the design you want to use, it will be set as your island flag.
It’s as simple as that! You can change the tune and flag as often as you’d like. It’s a great way to add a personalized touch to your town.
