How to Get Locktouch in Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE Encore

Technically, once you complete chapter 2 of the main story, you’ll be able to start trying to get the Locktouch ability. However, we don’t recommend doing this until you’ve gotten a full party at your disposal.

Once you unlock the Urahara Arena in Harajuku at the end of chapter 2, head there and talk to the NPC at the counter to accept his request. He’ll want you to recruit 10 Mirages, and one of them can be found in Harajuku, right down the street from the Arena.

The Mirage will be wearing a hat, so talk to him and you’ll be able to start trading Detritus in exchange for skill tomes. Once you’ve traded with him 12 times, he’ll move to the Idolasphere at Daitama, where you’ll need to fight a boss. After defeating the boss, you’ll get the Locktouch ability for Itsuki.

A couple of things to note here: first, once you’ve traded enough Detritus, you may need to leave and do another event, like triggering the next part of the main story or completing another request or side story, in order to get the NPC to appear at Daitama.

Secondly, you need more than 100 total Detritus to trade with the NPC, which means you have quite a bit of grinding to do.

How to Get Detritus

Because Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE Encore comes with all previously released DLC from the Wii U version, you’ll be able to enter the optional dungeons in Bloom Palace to get Detritus that way.

Each floor of the dungeons will contain for valuable item spots in all four corners, so hit them up to pick up some free Detritus.

Alternatively, you can also farm them from savage enemy encounters, which are triggered when you interact with purple enemy shadows in dungeons.

Each encounter drops two Detritus, and you can increase your encounter rate by using items like the Attractor Spray.

To recap, here’s how to get the Locktouch ability in Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE Encore:

  1. After unlocking the Arena, talk to the Arena counter NPC to accept his request.

  2. Find the Mirage outside the Arena and trade Detritus with him 12 times.

  3. Find the Mirage again at Daitama and defeat the boss there to get the ability.
