Dragon Ball Z Kakarot: Is There Co-Op Multiplayer? Answered

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is the latest in a long line of video games based on the prolific anime series, and this time it’s a full-blown RPG. You’ll get to relive the events of the anime, all the way from the Saiyan Saga to the Buu Saga. With so many iconic characters to see and play as you might be wondering, is there co-op multiplayer in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot? We’re here to give you an answer.

Is There Co-Op Multiplayer in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot?

To get right to the heart of things, unfortunately, no there is no kind of multiplayer to speak of in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. For all intents and purposes, it’s a single-player RPG through and through.

Kakarot lets you take full control of Goku, training his skills, fishing, and eating as much food as possible. Goku isn’t the only character you’ll be playing as, however, as at certain times you’ll also get to take control of Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks, and more. Just don’t expect to bring a friend along for the ride.

There’s always the chance that multiplayer options could be added later on down the road, but that is in no way confirmed, and you shouldn’t get your hopes up honestly. Luckily, you do have some co-op options if you love Dragon Ball.

Dragon Ball Z Games With Multiplayer

The good news is that there’s a wealth of Dragon Ball Z games out there with both co-op and standard multiplayer. First and foremost is the smash-hit fighting game Dragon Ball FighterZ, possibly the most faithful adaption we’ve seen of the series.

While FighterZ is more your standard versus, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and Xenoverse 2, have co-op options with Parallel Quests. If that’s what you’re looking for its’ better to just jump right into Xenoverse 2, as it lets you access co-op much faster than the first game.

You can, of course, go back even further to Xbox 360 and PS3 to find more games, but those options are the most readily available.
