Getting the Body Down in Disco Elysium
This is one of the very first objectives you’ll need to contend with in Disco Elysium. After waking up, meeting your partner, and getting your bearings, you’ll need to finally investigate the actual murder case. This also means that you’ll need to find a way to get the hanged body down from the tree.
There are two main ways of getting the body down, and it all comes down to luck and your character build. Here are the two ways:
- Shoot the body down with Kim’s gun
- Seek help from Measurehead
Using Kim’s Gun
The first option is to use Kim’s handgun to try to shoot the body down from the tree. This requires you to pass a hand-eye coordination check, and if your starting build is geared enough towards this stat, you might have a decent chance of actually passing the check and get the body down.
However, you probably won’t be able to do that, and you’ll have to seek help elsewhere. That’s where Measurehead comes in.
Getting Measurehead to Help
With Measurehead, there are three ways to get him to help with getting the body down. You can either pass a physical check to force him to help, agree to listen to his views on race, or talk to Evart Claire and ask him to order Measurehead to help.
The easiest way to get his help is by agreeing to listen to his views, and you’ll unlock a new Thought. Equip it, pass time until the Thought is complete, then talk to Measurehead and let him know you’ve thought about it, and he’ll help you.
Alternatively, you can talk to Evart Claire and get him to order Measurehead to help you instead.
Regardless of what you pick, this will allow you to finally get the hanged body down from the tree, and you’ll get to progress through the story.
