Shenmue 3: How to Change to Japanese Voice & Audio Tracks

Whether you prefer English or Japanese voice acting and audio is a personal preference and neither one is the wrong or right choice. With the release of Shenmue 3 and the continuation of Ryo’s story, some players may be wanting to experience it with the Japanese voice acting instead. Here’s how to change to Japanese voice tracks in Shenmue 3.

Changing to Japanese Voice & Audio Tracks in Shenmue 3

First things first, it’s worth noting that you cannot change the voice track at any point in Shenmue 3 while you’re actually playing the game. Instead, you’ll have to return to the main title menu.

When you’re at the main menu, select Options. The very first option here will let you toggle between the English and Japanese voice tracks for the game. Simply select the Japanese one and load up the game and you’ll be good to go. If you ever want to change back, simply return to the main menu, go to Options, and change it back to English.
