Borderlands 3: How to Kill Wick & Warty (Rick & Morty Easter Egg)

wick & warty

Borderlands 3 has a lot of guns. Like, a serious amount of guns. We’re talking in the billions, apparently, even if there’s a fair bit of copy-pasting going on to bump the numbers. One weapon that packs a serious punch is the Redundant Savvy Phebert Hyperian Legendary Shotgun dropped by Wick & Warty, a pair whose name is a not so subtle Rick & Morty easter egg. First, you’ll need to kill them, though.

The mission that tasks you with killing Wick & Warty can be undertaken from the Sanctury Ship’s top-right area. You’ll find it on a Bounty Board.

Once you’ve accepted the mission it’s time to fast travel over to Lectra City, which is in Promethea. When you arrive, turn around and head up the stairs, following the ‘Contestants Only’ sign.

There’s no hard and fast guide to killing Wick & Warty, but we can offer some advice to help you overcome them.

First and foremost, keep your distance from the pair and stay as mobile as possible. Particularly so, given that in addition to Wick & Warty, other enemies will spawn in during the battle.

So obviously carry a few guns that can hit hard a distance. Snipers in particularly if you have good aim do a lot of damage in Borderlands 3. If it’s too chaotic to get consistent critical hits, auto rifles are a good alternative if you have a good one. Otherwise, use whatever are the best guns you got.

Importantly, you’ll notice green teleportation portal appear, and it’s essential you use them to stay mobile and out of danger. Keep your eyes peeled and be aware of where they are at all times.

You can actually tell where they will next appear by tracking where the green steak is going.

As a reward for killing Wick & Warty, you’ll get cash and the Redundant Savvy Phebert Hyperian Legendary Shotgun, but the latter will not always drop.
