Since much of the game is procedurally generated however, you need to do more than just flick a switch in the game’s settings. You’ll have to go out of your way if you’re really struggling or finding it too easy.

Remnant From the Ashes has three difficulty options: Normal, Hard, and Nightmare, and you have to head to a certain location in the game’s world to change difficulty.

How to Change Difficulty in Remnant From the Ashes

To be specific, you need to head to the glowing World Stone in Ward 13, which is where you can tinker with your World Settings.

However, it’s a bit more frustrating than just going out your way to find the options. If you change difficulty, you’ll essentially have to start over again, with only your character carrying over.

At the Ward 13 World Stone, you’ll see the option to reroll your world. Do that and it’ll reset all the random options in your world, at which point you’ll be able to select between the three difficulties.

You don’t have to worry about your abilities and upgrades, as they’ll carry over with you after the reroll, but the world will essentially be reset.

While it’ll change the overall difficulty, which impacts things like how hard the enemies are to kill and your damage output, it’ll still match your difficulty to your highest level piece of gear.

In short, this is how you change difficulty in Remenant From the Ashes.

  1. Head to Ward 13

Head to the Ward 13 section in the game and interact with the World Stone there. You’ll see it glowing red.

  2. Select the Option to Reroll Your World

Near the bottom of the screen, you’ll see the option to reroll your world. Select that.

  3. Choose the Difficulty

Here, you’ll be able to choose between Remnant From the Ashes’ three difficulty settings: Normal, Hard, and Nightmare. Your character will carry over, but the world will be reset.

That’s everything you need to know about how to change difficulty in Remnant From the Ashes. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
