What Is Gratitude in Dragon Quest Builders 2?

Acting as a tally of how happy your townspeople are with your creations, Gratitude is what allows players to build bigger and better things.

It can unlock new crafting recipes, allow towns to grow and expand, or even motivate townspeople to start building structures on their own.

However, it can take forever to accumulate Gratitude if you don’t know what you’re doing. That’s why we’re here with a guide to make sure you stockpile more Gratitude than you know what to do with as fast as possible.

How to Get Gratitude Fast in Dragon Quest Builders 2

What to Build to Get Gratitude Fast

To start, you’ll need to build basic housing and amenities for your townspeople as soon as possible. Doing so will ensure their Gratitude starts churning out at a regular basis, and that it’ll continue to do so as you partake in missions both big and small.

These facilities can be made out of whatever you wish, but the fancier and more elaborate the materials are, the more gratitude you’ll get.

Build bedrooms, bathrooms and toilets for your townspeople, and furnish them with whatever decorations you can, well before you’re asked to by any of the town’s residents.

This should give the gratitude townspeople provide to you a nice boost immediately, and keep it coming each time the townspeople use the different rooms or facilities.

Any townspeople who would have requested these structures be built will likewise still give you a Gratitude reward for the construction, so long as you speak to them and accept the quest at some point.

How to Stockpile Food

Next, you’ll need to make sure the townspeople have plenty of food. This is paramount, as they’ll pop out some gratitude every time they eat and continue to do so for the duration of your time in the town.

Explore the island you’re on and track down either monsters that consistently drop ingredients or seeds to grow crops with.

Once you’ve found some, grind through the enemies to accrue a nice stockpile of ingredients, or plant the crops to get a good harvest going.

Once you’ve got these base ingredients, cook them using a campfire. This will raise the quality of the food, or take them from being an ingredient toward being something more palatable.

Do this with all of the ingredients you have, and then store the meals in a chest that the townspeople can easily access. You’ll know it’s in the right place when the townspeople consistently go to and from the chest every day to secure a meal.

The townspeople should spit out some Gratitude every time they eat, with the amount varying based on the quality of the meal. Keep the chest well-stocked with food, and before long you’ll have more Gratitude than you know what to do with.
