Over the last few months, Niantic has been slowly releasing new Gen 4 Pokemon to Pokemon GO that players can add to their Pokedex. How to Get Magnezone in Pokemon GO

Magnezone is the Gen 4 evolution of Magneton from Gen 1. Rather than simply getting enough Magnemite candies and hitting evolve, you need a new item called a Magnetic Lure Module.

The Magnetic Lure Module is one of the new items in the store, alongside the Mossy and Glacial lures that allow you to evolve Eevee to Glaceon and Leafeon.

How to Get a Magnetic Lure Module & What They Do

Magnetic Lure modules work in the same way as the standard ones that have been in the game since its launch. You can buy them from the Pokemon GO store for 200 coins and they’re used at a PokeStop.

Simply buy one, head to a PokeStop that doesn’t have a Lure active, and use the item. You’ll then be able to see the Magnetic Lure’s area around the PokeStop.

How to Evolve to Magnezone

To get Magnezone using the Magnetic Lure, simply make sure that your little character is in the area of the lure and that you have 100 Magnemite candies.

Then, find the Magneton you would like to evolve and you should be able to hit evolve. Just make sure that you’re standing within range of the lure.

When out of the range of the lure, you won’t see any evolve option on the page of the Magneton in your Pokemon collection. This does essentially mean that, unless you’re defending a gym for a while to earn coins, a Pokemon is locked behind a microtransaction purchase.
