Rico Rodriquez is back to squash another South American dictator in Just Cause 4. This time, his adventure takes place in the fictional location of Solis, and you’ll want to keep your progress as you inevitably die in gigantic explosions. Here’s everything you need to know about how to save in Just Cause 4.

With how much freedom you’re given to take out enemies and cause destruction in Just Cause 4, the action can be quite unpredictable, and you’ll be caught out from time to time.

Thankfully, then, Just Cause 4 saves quite regularly, but you don’t have a lot of control over it. As far as we can tell, there is no manual save option in the game. You cannot go into the menu and save at a specific place. You have to rely on the game’s auto save system.

You’ll be happy to hear, though, that Just Cause 4 saves automatically pretty regularly. Whenever you see a small floppy disc like icon appear in the bottom left of the screen, your progress is saving. If you then choose to quit the game, you should begin there when you restart.

The little icon appears whenever you start or finish a mission, complete an objective during a mission or increase your Army of Chaos level. As you’re just playing the game usually, you should see the floppy disc icon pretty regularly.

That’s all there is to know about how to save in Just Cause 4. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to check out our extensive Just Cause 4 wiki guide. We have also listed some other helpful guides down below to give you a helping hand.
