Dragon Quest Builders 2 Gets New Trailer Showing Plenty of Gameplay

Today the Japanese arm of Square Enix released a new trailer of the upcoming JRPG-meets-Minecraft Dragon Quest Builders 2.

The trailer starts with a look at the game’s cutscenes and then moves on to show plenty of gameplay, including gathering, crafting, building, using bombs, swimming, exploration, fighting, and more.

We also see the battle island that has been introduced yesterday prompting the player to rebuild and defend a castle against the hordes of the evil Hargon from Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line. You can even lay traps in perfect Minecraft-style.

If the first game is any indication, those who love building games and JRPGs should find the perfect combination in Dragon Quest Builders 2.

You can check out the trailer in the gallery below. If you want to see more, you can also take a look at the previous batch another gallery of images, and watch the game’s opening cinematic.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 will launch in Japan for PS4 and Nintendo Switch on Dec. 20. A western release has been hinted at, but not officially announced as of now.

Hopefully, Square Enix will make the announcement soon enough. Of course, we’ll let you know as soon as we hear from them.
