Xbox One Q1

crackdown 3

2019 is set to be another great year for games, and the Xbox One doesn’t look like it’ll be slouching in the opening few months. Thanks to third-party support in the form of Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts III releasing towards the end of January, and Ubisoft’s Trials Rising, there’s sure to be a bit of something for everyone in the first few months of the year.

The most notable releases, however, have got to be Microsoft Game Studios’ very own Crackdown 3, and Ubisoft’s Far Cry New Dawn. Crackdown 3 has long been on the radar of Xbox One owners, having had release dates set for 2016, all the way through to this final release date in 2019. Players will assume the role of a crime-fighting super agent as they try to take down the sinister corporation known as TerraNova Worldwide. It’s all about big explosions and destruction in Crackdown 3, with otherworldly powers such as being able to leap from the floor up to the top of a skyscraper, sprinting at super speeds, and plenty more.

What’s more, we’ll finally see the power of the cloud in action on the Xbox One, with Crackdown 3’s multiplayer mode providing an entirely new level of physics and scale of destruction. Details remain fairly sparse, but it at least looks like we’ll finally get Crackdown 3 once and for all on Feb. 15.

Ubisoft recently surprised players with the announcement of Far Cry New Dawn less than a year after the release of Far Cry 5. Set in Hope County 17 years after Far Cry 5, New Dawn will show players exactly what’s changed since the bombs dropped and transformed the world into a post-apocalyptic land. The trailer was certainly all about action, and we can’t wait to return to Hope County all over again when it also releases on Feb. 15.
