Red Dead Redemption 2: How to Get Satchel Upgrades

How to Get Satchel Upgrades in Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 puts a big focus on crafting and survival mechanics. You’ll find yourself having to carry dozens of different materials and ingredients across the wild west. Upgrading your Satchel, then, should be high on your list of priorities. Here’s how to get satchel upgrades in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Upgrading your satchel isn’t as a simple as saving up enough money or completing a certain mission. Like many of the different upgrades in the game, you’ll have to craft them, and that means locating the right materials. Specifically, the correct pelts — which means a lot of hunting.

First, you’ll certainly want to familiarize yourself with the basics of hunting and where to find specific animals. Good thing we’ve written this handy how to hunt guide and where the best hunting locations are, then, huh?

Once you’re up to speed, it’s a matter of locating the right pelts for the task of actually upgrading your satchel. As a reminder, you’ll need to speak with Pearson at the gang’s camp to craft pelts.

We’ve got a full break down of how to get every pelt, including perfect pelts and which animals you’ll need to hunt which is also essential reading.

Pearson will be able to upgrade your satchel from the start of Chapter 2, as the gang settles on Horseshoe Overlook. Before he can actually work on them, though, you’ll need to have upgraded your leather tools. To do so, save up some money and select the option from the ledger.
