How to Get Mew in Pokemon Let’s Go

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee are finally available on the Nintendo Switch, and they mark the series’ debut on Nintendo’s handy little hybrid console. If you like the idea of getting a powerful Pokemon in your arsenal right from the start, you might want to look into getting a Poke Ball Plus. Here’s what you need to know about how to get Mew in Pokemon Let’s Go.

As mentioned previously, Mew comes as a free gift for players who purchased a Poke Ball Plus device along with their copy of Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. The Poke Ball Plus is a little pricey, so you’ll need to decide for yourself if Mew is worth the cost.

First off, you’ll need to connect the Poke Ball Plus to the Switch itself. Make sure your Switch is docked, then connect the device via the USB cable that came with it. Both devices should pair up quickly, and you’ll be able to start the game.

Boot up Pokemon Let’s Go, and the game will ask you which controller you want to use. Press the button on the Poke Ball Plus to confirm your selection, and the game should also notify you that Mew is available for download.

Once you’ve gained control of your main character, press X to bring up the menu, then choose the Communicate option. Select Mystery Gifts, then choose the Poke Ball Plus option, and say Yes when the game asks if you want to receive the Pokemon. Once the transfer is complete, Mew will automatically get added into your party, and you’ll have a badass Psychic type to start your adventure with. Who needs Pikachu or Eevee?

Do note that the transfer will only work once, which means that you only get one shot at hopefully getting the desired nature for your Mew.
