Here’s everything you need to know about how to get Operator Mods in Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and the best ones to have.

One the many new additions to the Call of Duty franchise made by Treyarch in Black Ops 4 are Operator Mods. Whereas in previous games the emphasis of gunplay rested almost exclusively on the gun itself, in Black Ops 4, attachments and mods can make or break a weapon.

That’s often the case with Operator Mods. Without them, a gun might be mediocre at best, but with them, it can become one of the game’s most effective weapons.

How to Get Operator Mods in Call of Duty Black Ops 4

To get an Operator Mod, you must first max out the weapon you want to mod. Once you’ve maxed out the weapon, go to the Wildcard section of your “create class” screen. It should be on the bottom right.

Once there, select “Primary Operator Mod” or “Secondary Operator Mod,” which depends on the weapon you want to mod.

Add the Wildcard to your weapon. Then, go to the attachments and you should see that weapon’s Operator Mod available for you to equip.

So, you know how to get and equip Operator Mods, but which mods are the ones you should be using?

Vapr-XKG – Bayonet

Once you’ve maxed out the Vapr-XKG, this Operator Mod is essential if you prefer to make the fight close and personal.

This bayonet turns your otherwise not-so-lethal melee attack into a very-much-lethal one.

Not only does the bayonet make your melee a one-hit kill, it also extends the range of it.

Spitfire – Wild Fire

Assuming you are capable of handling the insane fire rates of the Spitfire, and considering you need to max out the weapon to get this mod, you probably are, this mod is a must.

In short, it increases the fire rate to even more extraordinary heights.

The downside, though, is that it also increases weapon recoil and slows movement speed while aiming and firing. If you’re looking to decrease your time to kill, Wild Fire is the way to make that happen.

ABR 223 – Repeater

The Repeater Operator Mod decreases the delay between bursts the longer you hold the trigger down.

For someone shooting from a distance, which is the best way to use this weapon, the Repeater mod will allow you maintain a steady stream of fire when attempting to take down an entire team down a hallway or further away from you.

Eventually, the bursts will be firing so fast that the gun will fire off like an assault rifle. This mod is a must for ABR users.

MOG 12 – Dragon Breath

If you’re playing support, you absolutely need to use the Dragon Breath mod on the MOG 12. This mod gives the gun incendiary ammo that inflicts the burned health status. When an enemy is inflicted with this status, they can’t heal.

This mod is especially useful for laying down cover fire. You distract your enemies while stopping them from healing and your teammates can come and mop up the kills while earning the objective. It’s a win-win situation for everybody (except your enemies, of course).
