Shadow of the Tomb Raider: How to Get a Shotgun

How to Get a Shotgun in Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Shadow of the Tomb Raider continues Lara Croft’s coming of age story that was first established in the 2013 reboot. Here, she finds herself on the trail of the mysterious Order of the Trinity in the exotic location of the Peruvian jungle. It’s a stark contrast from the snow-capped peaks of Soviet Russia in the previous game, Rise of the Tomb Raider, which probably comes as a pleasant change of pace. This all feels much more like classic Tomb Raider. But although the setting and environment have changed, the level design remains similar. This is a semi-open world with interconnected areas that are often inaccessible until you have the right items or equipment. One such tool that will allow you to access certain areas is actually the Shotgun, which not only rips enemies apart but also is capable of destroying rubble and doorways that block Lara’s path. You might be wondering when you’ll get access to the Shotgun on your adventure through Shadow of the Tomb Raider, so here’s how to get it.

Weapons in Shadow of the Tomb Raider are typically bought from merchants, but the Shotgun is a bit of an exception. You won’t actually be given access to the Shotgun until you’re fairly far through the Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s main story. Specifically, you’ll get it as part of the main quest Eye of the Serpent in the Cenote region.

Now that you’ve got access to the Shotgun in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, you can return to areas in previous regions that were previously blocked off and tick off the various objectives to truly complete the game. You’ll also find the shotgun is pretty damn effective for taking out groups of enemies.

That’s all you need to know about how to get a Shotgun in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. For more useful information, tips, and guides on the game check out our ever-expanding wiki page.
