What Mini Medals Are and How to Use Them in Dragon Quest XI

Recommended Videos

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age may be a brand new, modern entry in the long-running franchise but there’s still plenty of traditional goodness for JRPG fans. The world of Erdrea in Dragon Quest XI is massive, and there’s a ton of things to collect. While on your travels you’ll find tons of items, weapons, treasure, and Mini Medals, a familiar collectible to any Dragon Quest fans. If you’re unfamiliar with them, however, Dragon Quest XI doesn’t immediately tell you what to do with the items.

Mini Medals can be found pretty much anywhere in Dragon Quest XI; treasure chests, cabinets, pots and barrels that you can break. Look high and low everywhere you go as there are a ton of Mini Medals in the game. Once you get to the town of Puerto Valor you can finally make use of those Mini Medals, by going to the inn on the westernmost end of town, all the way on the left side of your map. Inside there’s a woman working the Medal Exchange Counter, and by talking to her she’ll take all the Mini Medals you’ve got and give you a stamp card. The card has multiple slots for the medals, and rewards when you collect enough. Unfortunately, you’ll only get one stamp card in Puerto Valor and once it’s full you’ll need to head to L’Academi de Notre in Champs Sauvage to keep going.

To do this simply follow the main story of Dragon Quest XI until you get the orb from Nautica, and then follow the pink exclamation point to take your ship underwater and come up in Champs Sauvage. L’Academie de Notre is the big school in the north of the area, so simply enter and you’ll talk to the headmaster who’ll keep your mini medal stamp collection going. There are tons of prizes to get, most of which include powerful weapons or armor, so it’s in your best interest to find those mini medals.
