How to Unlock Super Mario Odyssey Levels in Captain Toad Switch

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is the latest Wii U title to make the journey onto Nintendo Switch. The charming puzzle game presents you with a series of self-contained diorama puzzles, and you’ll need all your wits to make it through each and every one. There’s a handful of changes and new content, with the biggest addition coming in the form of entirely new levels from Super Mario Odyssey. There are four levels to play from Super Mario Odyssey; Secret of the Inverted Pyramid, Mine Cart Cascade Crusade, Uptown, Downtown, and Cookatiel’s Sizzling Sprint. Of course, if you’re starting up Captain Toad you’ll want to know how to unlock the new content, and we’ll help you with just that.

There are two different ways to unlock the Mario Odyssey levels in Captain Toad, one of which requires a fair amount of work, while the other requires no work whatsoever. The first way is by playing through all three books of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and beating every level. You don’t need to get 100 percent or every gem, you just need to complete the levels. Once you’ve done that you’ll unlock post-game content, including the Mario Odyssey levels.

If you want to go the effortless, but more expensive route, you can always choose the amiibo option. Scanning any of the three Wedding Outfit amiibo (Peach, Bowser, Mario) released alongside Super Mario Odyssey, will instantly unlock the levels for you. If you happen to have one of those amiibo lying around, great, if not you can still pick them up for roughly $10.
