All PS4 Game Releases for August 2018

Telltale Walking Dead Final Season Voice Actors

The summer is notorious for being a dry period in the video game industry, and while 2018 hasn’t necessarily broken that stereotype, there still have been a few big releases to look forward to every month. August is much the same way, with a handful of smaller releases highlighted by a few big things to look forward to.

It’s a big month for sports games on PS4 with Madden NFL 19 releasing on Aug. 10, once again sporting the single player mode Longshot. Later in the month, we’ll also get the release of F1 2018 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2019.

Indie games get a big boost on PS4 in the first week with the frantic co-op puzzle game Overcooked! 2, as well as the visually stunning Metroidvania title Dead Cells. Then on Aug. 10 the highly anticipated We Happy Few finally releases, after undergoing some massive changes and restructuring while the game was in early access. The latest trailers for the game certainly double down on its creepy narrative aspects, rather than the open-ended exploration before.

One of the highlights of the month is definitely the start of the final season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead, which will bring an end to the story of Clementine. Each season has been an emotional journey, and now fans will taking control of Clem once again for a final adventure in the world of The Walking Dead.

The last two weeks of the month are where releases really start heating up for the PS4, with the return of two Sega classics in the Shenmue I & II collection. After that, we see the release of the adorable Little Dragons Cafe from the creator of Harvest Moon, the indie fighting game Blade Strangers, and the latest ninja-fighter Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker. The standouts of the last half, and perhaps the whole month, however, are Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition. Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a complete remake of the second game in the series, brought to fruition with the Dragon Engine used in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. Meanwhile, the Definitive Edition finally brings the award-winning RPG Divinity: Original Sin 2 to consoles, one of the highest-rated games of 2017. Here at Twinfinite we even gave the game that coveted 5/5 score, so it’s something RPG fans should definitely be watching out for.
