Is Red Dead Redemption 2 Coming to Nintendo Switch?

Recommended Videos

Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally launching on the PS4 and Xbox One later this year. The action-adventure game is actually a prequel to the first entry in the series, following the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan. He is a member of the Dutch van der Linde gang which, if you’ve played the first game, should ring a bell. One big question fans might have about the game is if it’s slated for a Nintendo Switch release in the near future.

Rockstar Games hasn’t mentioned anything about a potential Switch port, and judging by the game’s performance, it seems highly unlikely. While the hybrid console has gotten plenty of third-party ports over the past year, it still doesn’t seem to be strong enough to support games such as the Red Dead Redemption prequel. If anything, a port of the first game seems more likely if ever they decide to bring the series over to the Switch.

If ever they do decide to port it over to the Nintendo Switch, we’ll update this post with more information. For now, the only way you can play Red Dead Redemption 2 is on the PS4 and Xbox One when it launches this Oct. 26.
