Frostpunk: How to Research Technology

Researching Technology in Frostpunk

Recommended Videos

As a city-builder game, Frostpunk requires you to build a new civilization from the ground up while also expanding your borders and keeping your people happy. As you expand even further, you’ll need to upgrade the generator and build new structures to increase your output. In order to do that, you’ll need to research some new technology and upgrades from the technology tree.

This tree can be unlocked once you build a workshop in your city. Thankfully, the workshop is one of the earlier structures you can build in the game. However, do note that only engineers can work in a workshop, so make sure you have a few of them on hand. In order to reach 100% efficiency in the workshop, you need five engineers there. After doing this, you’ll unlock the technology tree, which can be accessed from the bottom left corner of the screen. You can only research one item at a time, and you’ll also need to expend some resources to complete the research. The tech tree is very important, as it allows you to improve your generator’s efficiency, improve buildings for hunting, and create better shelter, among other things.

That’s all you need to know about researching technology in Frostpunk. For more on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
