How to Install Mods in Dragon Ball FighterZ

Though Dragon Ball FighterZ hasn’t been out for very long, the game has been receiving tons of content from the PC community in the way of mods. Be it simple color palettes or different models entirely, users have been creating quite imaginative fighters for use in the game – one being Sonic the Hedgehog himself.

Given the wild possibility, some may be wondering how to install mods into Dragon Ball FighterZ in the first place. Though it does require you to mess around with your game’s files a little, rest assured that the steps outlined below will preserve the quality of your title while also allowing you more freedom in the way of what the community has to offer.

First you’ll have to set up a mod directory. Navigate to the folder that FighterZ is located in or, if you bought the game on Steam, go into its properties, click on the local files tab, and click “Browse Local Files.” Go to the “RED” folder, then click “Content,” then click “Paks.” If you see four files named pakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor.pak, pakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor.sig, pakchunk1-WindowsNoEditor.pak, and pakchunk1-WindowsNoEditor.sig, you’re in the right place.

Next, create a folder named “~mods” alongside these weird-sounding files. Make sure it’s named exactly like that, as Dragon Ball FighterZ won’t read anything outside of this. Once done, go online and search for whatever mod you like. Two great sites to use are fighterzmods.com and gamebanana.com. Choose whatever mod suits your fancy and download it for free. This should net you either a .zip or .rar compressed file.

Decompress the file you just downloaded to grant you two more new files, a .pak and a .sig, each of which is named exactly the same. Insert each of these into the “~mods” folder you created earlier, then just run the game normally from there. You should be able to see your mod in action when you access the game’s character selection screen again.

Now you know how to officially download mods for use in Dragon Ball FighterZ. For more guides, tips, and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
