With Assassin’s Creed Origins, Ubisoft has shaken up the traditional gameplay and combat system from prior entries, placing a far greater emphasis on role-playing systems. Similar to action role-playing games such as Horizon Zero Dawn, there are now combat damage numbers that display when players strike enemies. Because there are many different classes and weapon types in the game, plus the ability to modify their damage and various buffs, combat damage numbers help to better represent effectiveness (or lack of).

That all being said, there are those among us that don’t appreciate the clutter of combat damage numbers, either because they just get in the way or break immersion. If you do fall into that camp, thankfully there is a way to turn off combat damage numbers in Assassin’s Creed Origins. To do so, simply access the pause menu, press left on the d-pad, go to options, then gameplay. Here, you will find an option that reads “Fight Damage.” Set this to off.
