How to Trigger the Heroic Injection Rig Public Event in Destiny 2
The Injection Rig can be a pretty challenging public event in Destiny 2 (easily among the most difficult we’ve come across in the game). You have to take out multiple powerful targets while also dealing with a machine that gets really hot and tries to kill you. Completing the normal objective is tough enough, but triggering the Heroic version of this public event in Destiny 2 will require you to bear the heat and take out some tiny targets.
As you fight, there will be some Psions to kill in order to advance the phases of the event. After destroying each, the Injection Rig will let out steam within its shield dome that does damage to the player. Instead of running, though, you want to shoot the vents that open up. The first few will be along the top as pictured below:
After clearing out the first of these vents on the Injection Rig, more will appear on the lower section of the machine after the next phase. This is much more easily taken care of with a full Fireteam, as they don’t stay open forever. Also, you will want to use power weapons such as Rocket Launchers, Sniper Rifles, and Fusion Rifles to make these Injection Rig vents explode really quick.
If you manage to take them all out, a new boss will appear and you’ll just have to kill it and survive. That’s all there is to it for Destiny 2’s Injection Rig Heroic Public Event.
