FFXIV Stormblood: How to Start the ‘Beyond the Great Wall’ MSQ
If you’re just hopping into Stormblood after taking a break from Final Fantasy XIV for a while, you might be a little confused as to how to get started with the new story content. The first Main Scenario Quest (MSQ) is called Beyond the Great Wall, and if you click on it, you’ll see that the game directs you to Mor Dhona, so go ahead and teleport there.
If your mini map is cluttered with quest icons, however, you might have some trouble locating the MSQ even once you’re in Mor Dhona. Head into the bar and enter the Rising Stones headquarters. From here, look for the exclamation point on your map and talk to Alphinaud. The quest will reward you with 167,400 experience points and 1,498 Gil. Talk to Alphinaud to accept the mission, and you’ll be able to get started on your Stormblood adventure.
Before you start the main content, though, you’ll have to be at the required level of 60. Do try to get your gear level as high as possible, too. Ideally at least around the 220-240 mark to make your life easier, although you might be able to get away with less with quest rewards and some gil.
