Prey: How to Upgrade Weapons

How to Upgrade Weapons in Prey

Recommended Videos

While the weapons you get at the start of Prey will be enough to fight off the Typhon for a while, it won’t take long for them to put up a bit more of a fight. As such, you’ll want to make sure you upgrade your weapons so they can keep up with the challenge. Here’s how to upgrade weapons in Prey.

First off, you’ll need to get your hands on a Weapon Upgrade Kit. These can be found lying all around the Talos I, so be sure to search every nook and cranny you come across.

Once you’ve got one, you’ll want to open your inventory by pressing the touchpad on PS4 or View button on Xbox One. From here, select the weapon you want to upgrade and press Triangle/ Y. Select the Upgrade option and you’ll be greeted by another screen.

Here, you’ll be able to choose what aspect of the weapon you want to improve such as Firepower, Recoil, Ammo Capacity, and Reload Speed. Simply select the one you’d like to upgrade and press X/A to confirm your choice.

That’s all you need to do to upgrade weapons in Prey. For more tips, tricks, and guides on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki guide.
