Sounds badass, but it's just a toy.

Getting the Huntress Boltcaster in Prey

Just by the sound of its name, the Huntress Boltcaster sounds like it should be one of the most badass weapons you can acquire in Prey. However, that’s not necessarily the case. This weapon doesn’t do any lethal damage, and it’s actually just a toy crossbow that became quite popular among the crew on Talos I.

The Huntress Boltcaster can be found in the Sales Division Office, which is located on the third floor of the Talos I lobby. Like most of the other weapons in the game, you can also acquire a fabrication license for the Boltcaster and its ammunition, and you’ll be able to recreate it yourself with the help a Fabricator.

While the Boltcaster doesn’t actually deal damage, its foam darts can be used to distract enemies, allowing you to sneak around them if that’s your sort of play style. The darts can also be used to hit buttons or terminals that might be out of your reach, possibly allowing you to access other places early on in the game. It’s a very situational weapon, but you can use it in creative ways.

That’s all you need to know about the Huntress Boltcaster in Prey. Be sure to check back with Twinfinite and our ever-expanding wiki for more tips, tricks, and information on Prey.
