Persona 5: How to Get More Persona to Join Your Squad

How to Get More Persona in Persona 5

Recommended Videos

Persona 5 has a staple mechanic of allowing the characters to summon creatures to aid them during fights. These are called “Personas” and they signify a part of each character. Your main character, however, can summon multiples of these, making them a sort of wild card and alluding to how he’s basically a mannequin for the player to work with. With this, you can actually harness a whole bunch of different elements to take down any kind of shadow that comes your way.

How you get more Personas this time around differs than before. Now, you need to knock them down by hitting them with their weakness, triggering a hold up. Once you do, hit the X button and you will commence talking to them, at which point you can ask them to give you their power. (Note that this becomes available after a certain point in the game.) Pay attention to what they say, because you need to answer to their liking in order to not have them just run away or simply give you an item. You don’t want that! You want their power!

The good news is that the dialogue choices that work won’t change with that shadow. So sometimes all it will take to get it right and form a bond is trial and error.
