How to Respec in Mass Effect: Andromeda
Mass Effect: Andromeda is always throwing a lot of decisions at the player. Whether it’s what mission to do next, which planet you should probe, who should join you on the ground, and even where you want to invest all of your hard earned skill points. Sometimes you’ll make a decision in the heat of the motion, just to give yourself a bit of an edge during a particular tough part of the game, only to then come to the conclusion that those points were better assigned elsewhere. Don’t worry if this happens to you, though, because you can respec your own character or any of your companions.
For those who don’t know, to respec a character means to remove all of their skill points in order to redistribute them to better suit your play style or a specific need. In Mass Effect Andromeda, that’s done in the Med Bay of the Tempest, the personal ship you receive just a few hours into the game.
In the Med Bay, you’ll notice a sort of hologram device to the left as soon as you walk in that shows a human skeleton with some organs highlighted. Walk up to the left side of this display and you’ll be able to interact with it which is when you find out that this is Mass Effect: Andromeda’s Skill Respec Station. Once you interact, you’ll be able to choose which member of the crew, including yourself, you’d like to change, then you’ll have to pay a small fee.
The price for the first time is 20 Credits. This doesn’t mean the first time for each character, either, just the first time you use the station overall. The second time is 520 Credits, and it goes up with each use. This means you can’t abuse it if you don’t have the funds (though it’s not very difficult to earn funds in the game). Still, to prevent having to dip into your virtual bank account too much, you’ll want to be careful when choosing skills and make sure you pick things you know you’ll make use of.
