Astroneer: How to Play Co-Op Multiplayer with Friends

The Astroneer multiplayer system gives players the option to experience the fun of its single-player mode with friends. Joining multiplayer is very simple and takes just a bit of navigation. There are two ways to start multiplayer and each way depends on whether you are hosting the game or you want to join someone else’s game. If you have a specific person in mind that you want to play with, you must add them as a friend before you can join. Hit Tab+Shift to bring up your Steam friends list. Once your list is up, you can scroll through your friends list to find the one you wish to play with. Then, click the down arrow next to your friend’s icon to bring up a dropdown menu. Once that is done, there should be an option for you to invite that player to your game within that dropdown menu.

If you instead want to join a friend’s game, then wait for their invite and accept it, or you can use the same down arrow option to select the “Join Game” option. Keep in mind, these options only come up for friends who already own the game.
