Upgrade Fortifications – Gears of War 4
Horde 3.0 is a complete revamping of the classic cooperative challenge from the series. In order to take on the more challenging waves of enemies in Horde 3.0, players will have the Fabricator to help them to build fortifications and powerful weapons. However, these will just be standard defenses that, while helpful, are also a little weak.
To really benefit you in the long run, you’ll want to upgrade your fortifications. This will make them far more resistant to enemy damage, deal more damage, and just generally be far more useful than their standard versions.
Upgrading your fortifications is incredibly simple, but the game doesn’t exactly tell you how to do it. All you have to do is head over to the fortification that you want to upgrade and pick it up. As long as your Fabricator is already a higher level than the existing fortification, you’ll be prompted to press X to upgrade it before placing it back down. Press X and you’ll see the visual changes to the fortification occur. Then place it back down wherever you want with Y to finish the upgrade. As long as you have enough Power in your Fabricator, you’ll be able to upgrade this fortification. In doing so, you’ll also be given the option to move this fortification if you feel it’d be more effective elsewhere.
Fortifications available from your Fabricator will also increase in level as your Fabricator is upgraded.
