Titan Materials – Attack on Titan
Materials in Attack on Titan are need to acquire new gear and to upgrade gear you already have. They can also be sold to earn more Regiment Funds (money). While each particular mission has a set of rewards they grant, you can actually earn more by destroying parts of select Titans.
When you see a Titan with a yellow diamond on one of its joints or neck, that means that part will yield a material (it’s a mystery what you’ll get until the mission is done). To target a specific body part, hit R1/RB to lock onto the Titan and use the right thumbstick to cycle between body parts. Once locked on, attack as you normally would until it’s destroyed. Having other soldiers with you set to ‘Focus’ will help expedite the process.
Later in the game, when there are more Titans per mission, you can gain a lot of materials this way. Just make sure to keep an eye on your gas and blade durability, as taking out body parts before subjugating the Titan will waste each of these valuable resources.
