Making Atlas Rises bug-free.

Hello Games previously released a huge content update with Atlas Rises, adding plenty of new features and a 30-hour narrative. Inadvertently, Atlas Rises also brought new bugs. Just now, No Man’s Sky update 1.33 was deployed for PC and PS4, which has plenty of bug fixes, gameplay changes, and a number of quality-of-life improvements.

First off, the 2GB patch has rendered the Terrain Manipulator multi-tool exploit obsolete. Previously, gamers resorted to a glitch due to the absurd resource cost for refilling the ammunition of the Terrain Manipulator. Replenishing the Terrain Manipulator’s ammunition costs over 1,000 Plutonium, but creating a new one with full ammo only costs 25 Plutonium and 25 Iron. Hence, the exploit involved deconstructing the Terrain Manipulator and building a new one to offset the expensive resource cost. In the latest patch, creating a new Terrain Manipulator will no longer have full ammo.

No Man’s Sky update 1.33 also ensures that changes made with the Terrain Manipulator are permanent.

Additionally, ship handling has been made sluggish for flying in outer space and dog fighting, displeasing many fans on Reddit. Hello Games notes that ship handling could be improved by installing booster upgrades.

Other notable changes include the ability to cancel in-progress missions, “improved pricing” for base building parts, and an additional option to choose temperature display in either Celcius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin.

A game-breaking bug in the Atlas Rises narrative has also been fixed in No Man’s Sky update 1.33. During the Mind-Arc mission, players will have to travel back and forth from their home base. However, the teleport can only register four locations, thus, the game eventually removes an essential area that players must revisit to progress the story. Now, the teleport destination has been locked so players can complete the Mind-Arc mission.
