Mortal Kombat X is adding several new characters to its roster soon with the Kombat Pack 2. We’ve seen footage of all four characters in action in brief trailers. Today, series creator Ed Boon revealed the release date for the new DLC fighters, and it’s a lot sooner than we expected.

The first Kombat Pack released four characters over the course of 2015. This time, all 4 characters will be added to the game on the same day.

Advertisements for Mortal Kombat XL hinted that this might happen, but Ed Boon has confirmed this major change to MKX’s DLC plans. Instead of waiting for a year to get 4 characters, they’ll be available immediately on March 1.

If you don’t already have Mortal Kombat X, buying the XL edition will get you everything immediately. If you’re buying the Kombat Pack 2 on March 1, prepare for a large download to add these new fighters to the game.

Which new Mortal Kombat X character will you try first? Let us know in the comments.
