Ride a Bear – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Recommended Videos

Horses may be your closest companions in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but it’s actually possible to ride other animals around the world of Hyrule as well. This includes beasts like moose, deer, and even bears. It can be fairly difficult to do this, however, so you’ll need to properly prepare.

One of the most important aspects of catching a bear to ride is stealth. Because of this, if you’re looking for a bear you’ll want to make sure to have some serious stealth bonuses . It’s recommended you purchase the Stealth Armor set from Kakariko Village, and equip that. You can also brew some elixers that give you a stealth boost. You can create these in various ways in Breath of the Wild, but you’ll generally want to use a firefly along with monster parts.

Once you’ve got your stealth boosted, you need to approach carefully. Makes sure the bear doesn’t see you and keep at its back constantly. Of course, always be in the stealth position. You’ll also want to keep your stamina levels in mind if you’re trying to ride a bear, as you’ll need some significant stamina to tame it. Don’t be afraid to brew a couple elixers that’ll restore your stamina, and use them as needed.

Of course, you’ll only be able to ride a bear as long as you have it with you, and you won’t be able to register it at any of the stables in Breath of the Wild. It can be a challenge to ride beasts in Breath of the Wild, but come in prepared and you should do it eventually.
