Rise of the Tomb Raider Guide – How to Fast Travel

Make sure to head back and revisit old areas.
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Rise of the Tomb Raider adds a multitude of features, some new and some returning. Players can have Lara Croft scavenge for materials, hunt enemies, craft new weapons and set up base camps. However, not everything is as obvious as it seems.

Fast travel for instance. In order to fast travel, players must progress into the story far enough to reach the Siberian Wilderness. There is where you’ll set up your first base camp. Gather the necessary materials (enough dry sticks to start a fire) and you’ll be able to sit down and see Rise of the Tomb Raider’s base camp information screen. Base camps are where you can spend your skill points, use your inventory, upgrade weapons, and yes, fast travel.

However, you can’t fast travel anywhere until you’ve unlocked the second base camp. That base camp is in the Glacial Cavern after you kill the angry cave bear using the poison arrows. Head into the cave and progress forward. You’ll eventually come across the second base camp. It will be set up for you and from this point on you can freely fast travel to any discovered base camps in Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Be sure to take advantage of fast travel in Rise of the Tomb Raider to go back and revisit areas for things you might have missed. That does it for this guide. Happy fast traveling!
