Splatoon Splatfest

Inkopolis is perfect for special events, the Inklings already love a good party, Splatfest has shown us that. Deck the halls with green and red paint, and decorations all around. Kalie and Marie can lend their talents to some fresh new holiday tunes, and the equipment vendors will sell you some exclusive holiday items.

Inklings will love to dress up in Santa costumes and elf ears. You could even set up some friendly holiday competitions. Are you team Candy Cane or team Ginger Bread? Let’s paint the town red with some Christmas cheer.

 Mario-Cool Cool Mountain

Mario Holdiay

This chilly level is perfect for getting into the spirit of holiday weather. Although it has a few different iterations throughout the Mario series, the most memorable one is definitely the mountain in Mario 64.

Here you can enjoy some classic winter activities with Mario, like sledding, and saving baby penguins all to the beat of a peppy song. Bring the family together by helping to bring the family of Penguins together. Just watch out for those festive Snowmen, if they land on you it’ll hurt.

For helping with various tasks around Cool Cool Mountain you’ll get a nice shiny star, which is surely supposed to go on top of the tree, right?

Animal Crossing

Animal Crossing Holiday

Here’s the obvious one, and a world that already gears up for the holiday season every year. The quaint villages of Animal Crossing are the perfect time for its critter inhabitants to get together and celebrate. You can set up a holiday display in the town center, with a tree, some holiday character displays and lights all over everything.

Of course, presents are expected as your neighbors will want to give you something special, and expect something in return. Make sure you get them something they like. Everyone can gather together to roast chestnuts over an open fire, and build some snowmen. Make sure you get all those Nendodroids decorated with some holiday spirit too. It truly will be peace on earth, until you don’t visit those animals for a year and they think you’re dead that is.

Fallout

Fallout Holiday

In the apocalypse more than ever, people need a reason to celebrate and decorate. Technology left over from before the bombs lies everywhere, and there’s plenty at your disposal to add a little holiday cheer for all those ghouls and raiders.

Scavenge through those abandoned building and general stores to find some lights to hang up, maybe some holiday costumes. It wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine a wandering stranger in a red suit, leaving packages for people while they sleep in the world of Fallout either.

All the citizens of the wasteland would have for a Christmas example would be old images from the past, leading to their normal warped sense of how things are supposed to be. Maybe a cult develops called “The Worshippers of the Eternal Tree” who only worship Christmas trees? Who knows what can happen in the wasteland?

Kingdom Hearts II- Christmas Town

KH II Christmas Town

Nothing has more holiday spirit than Santa’s Workshop itself. Even though the Heartless have threatened it, Christmas Town remains the most cheerful place around. Just take a moment to dress up with Sora, Jack Skellington, and the crew to drive the Heartless from Santa’s world.

Take a stroll over Yuletide Hill and Candy Cane Lane to warm up some of those enemies with a nice fire spell. If you’re playing the Final Mix version of the game on the 2.5 Remix collection it has it’s own holiday themed music, including a battle theme with sleigh bells and all. It’s the perfect holiday theme to celebrate, and destroy some enemies!

Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy XIV Holiday

Final Fantasy XIV is brimming with magic and discovery, and a holiday event is the perfect time to jump into the world and celebrate. The world of Eorzea gathers together every year for the Starlight Celebration. Hearkening back from the days of Final Fantasy XI, this event is technically a canonical celebration within the world of Final Fantasy XIV.

The holiday extravaganza adds some festive decorations around the cities of Eorzea, and has a new host of items and equipment for players to collect, ranging from Santa(Saint’s) hat and beard to reindeer antlers. There’s also a variety of quests exclusive to the Starlight Celebration that players are able to complete.

In 2014 you assumed the role of  “Saint’s Little Helper” to retrieve letters from children wishing for a gift from the Spinner, and then deliver the present from an event representative. By doing this you earn s “Fallen Star” token that can be exchanged for event items from merchants.

Eorzea is always a grand world to explore, and there’s no better time than the holidays to create a character and soak in the excitement and cheer during your travels.

Banjo-Kazooie- Freezeezy Peak

BK-Freezeezy-Peak

There’s something about snowy mountains that just seem to fit with the holidays, but no mountain is more festive than Freezezy Peak. Freezezy is literally filled with gifts, and an absolutely gigantic snowman in the middle.  If putting up your Christmas tree wasn’t quite enough for you, you can help Banjo put up another one full of sentient light creatures.

You can soak in the sights of quaint little cabins, and of course turn into a nice holiday walrus and have a sled race. Any mountain worth its weight has to have a sled race. Don’t get to wrapped up in the holiday spirit though and forget to collect all those Jiggies.

The Sims

The Sims Holiday

There really may not be any finer game world to celebrate the holidays in than the Sims. Those Sims love celebrating and partying, and you can make the holiday bash you’ve always wanted to with their world. Each Sims game has a host of holiday content for you to deck out your underlings home.

Deck out your house with snowmen and lights, and invite the whole neighborhood over for a nice soiree. You can dress up your Sims however you want too, you really do have all the power. Make them dress like a reindeer or an elf, or wear the worst holiday sweater you’ve ever seen in your life.

Holiday parties with your family can be tiring sometimes, all those people asking about what you’ve been up to and telling you all about your cousins and stuff. With the Sims you can have the perfect annoyance free holiday party, and hey if you want it to go on forever just delete the door. It’s always the holiday in the Sims, you’ll leave them no choice.
