We’ve reached peak battle royale, people. Talented Microsoft studio Playground Games has today unveiled The Eliminator update for its esteemed open-world arcade racer Forza Horizon 4. The Eliminator adds an all-new battle royale-inspired game mode that pits 72 players in a face-off within designated areas of its map. It launches as a free update tomorrow, Dec. 12.

After spawning in the map, players will be tasked with eliminating one another in head-to-head races to earn upgrades and a chance to pick up faster cars. Arena walls contract throughout the game, forcing players closer together until a final white-knuckle race among the survivors determines the winner.

Today’s update follows on from two Forza Horizon 4 Lego Speed Champions bundles that were announced during Microsoft’s recent Inside Xbox broadcast.

Playground Games has continuously supported the game with a live service-style update schedule that has seen new vehicles and environments added, including a Top Gear inspired update.
