Zero Escape: The Nonary Games – Getting the True Ending in 999

Recommended Videos

Unlike Virtue’s Last Reward where the game’s flowchart gives you a clear roadmap to reaching that game’s true ending, 999 approaches things a little differently. While 999 does have a flowchart in The Nonary Games, the true ending can be easily missed if you don’t know the right options to choose.

First off, I recommend playing through the game blind for your first run. More likely than not, this will lead you to one of the game’s bad endings, but it should give you a good idea of what the story’s all about.

On your second run, you’ll want to go for the Safe ending. To get this ending, go through doors 5, 8, and 6. This will ultimately lead you to the Safe ending. Do note that you have to unlock this ending on your save file before you can pursue the true ending. During your next run, follow these steps:

  • Go through door 4. In the puzzle room, take the clover bookmark from Santa.
  • In the kitchen puzzle room, when Akane talks about carbon dioxide, say that it’s odd.
  • Go through door 7. In the puzzle room, ask Seven about Ice-9. Give the bookmark to Clover.
  • Go through door 1. From here, you’ll be locked into the route that leads you to 999’s true ending.
