8 Star Wars Heroes That Should Be Added to Battlefront

Star Wars Force Awakens

One of the best features in DICE’s newest shooter, Star Wars Battlefront — has to be the playable heroes. Granted, there’s only three on each side but recently DICE announced there will be four more heroes coming. The best aspect of the hero characters is that they all feel unique and have different playstyles, even between the support heroes like Princess Leia and Emperor Palpatine. Hopefully they keep taking this route with the future DLC and distance themselves from having *ahem* clone characters.

If Star Wars Battlefront sticks with the original movies, DICE will be challenged to find more playable Empire characters.

Lando Calrissian

Star Wars

Everybody forgets about poor Lando, even video games. Heck, Star Wars Battlefront 2 literally had every Star Wars character, except this smooth talker. Of course, he would most definitely be a ranged character, possibly a support character much like Leia. One of his moves should summon Lobot to help assist with the disposal of Imperial troops on the battlefield. There’s so much you can do with Lando, it’s a shame he’s not in the game currently.

 Chewbacca

Star Wars

Out of all the DLC thats been announced, I think Chewie here is the most likely to make an appearance. For whatever reason, he’s not in the game currently. Chewbacca would be armed with his trusty bowcaster and a whole lot of attitude. In Star Wars Battlefront 2, Chewie was the least fun character to play as. Hopefully, if DICE decides to add the lovable Wookie into Star Wars Battlefront, they make him a blast to play. We never see the true strength of a Wookie, so hopefully Chewbacca has some melee combat in store for us.

Yoda

Star Wars

Just like with Chewbacca, Yoda will most likely be one of the DLC heroes. Maybe with that, even a Dagobah map? If they add little Yoda into the game, hopefully he’s more of a Force wielder and less of a lightsaber slasher as we’ve seen him in the prequels. Sure, Yoda kicks ass with his lightsaber but seeing the destructive power of Emperor Palpatine go up against the formidable Jedi Master could be interesting. How hilarious/awesome would it be to have Yoda hitch a ride on infantry troops? Make it happen, DICE!

Rey (The Force Awakens)

The Force Awakens Star Wars

Since we’re getting the Battle of Jakku DLC very soon, there could always be the possibility that EA and DICE release more from the Force Awakens. Essentially, they could re-skin all of the Stormtroopers and Rebel infantry into the new designs. Of course, that sounds way easier than it actually is but it’s still a possibility. Rey looks like she’s the main star in the Force Awakens. From the recent trailer, it’s speculated that Rey, not Finn is destined to be a Jedi. It would be really cool to have her in the game, along with Finn.

 Obi-Wan Kenobi (Episode IV)

Star Wars

This should be a fairly obvious addition to the playable heroes cast. Seeing him face off against her former apprentice on the Death Star would be even better if we could control it. He surely kicked some serious ass in the prequels with his Force Push. Maybe they could add Jedi Mind Trick to his arsenal, it was featured in Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy which would turn you invisible on your enemy’s screen. He definitely needs to be included in Star Wars Battlefront.

Darth Maul

Star Wars

If you haven’t seen Star Wars: The Clone Wars (you really should), in the series it’s shown that Darth Maul is in fact alive and well-ish. Of course, half of his body is robotic but he still has that Sith-angst we all know and love. It’s interesting to realize that we haven’t heard from Maul since his storyline concluded in the TV show. His younger, Phantom Menace era version was by far the most enjoyable hero in Star Wars Battlefront 2, and DICE would do the character justice if they include him.

Aphra

Star Wars

Finding bad guys from the original trilogy is quite the task, especially since Disney has wiped out pretty much all of the Expanded Universe. Luckily, Marvel and Disney have been busy creating memorable new ones. In Darth Vader’s newest comic book series, we’re introduced to Aphra, ahem, Doctor Aphra — who’s like a sassier, and more dangerous version of Han Solo. Armed with her trusty blaster and two murderous droids, Aphra could be an extremely interesting character in Star Wars Battlefront.

Kylo Ren

Star Wars

Unfortunately, we don’t know a whole lot about the mysterious Kylo Ren. All we know is that he’s one of the main antagonists in Force Awakens. Again, just like Rey and Finn, there’s room for brand new characters in Star Wars Battlefront. We really don’t know what these characters are capable of until we see the new movie, so we’re not sure what any of their moves could be. Gwendoline Christie’s Captain Phasma character would be an excellent addition, too.

What characters would you add in Star Wars Battlefront? Are you happy with the six that we have in-game? Would you love to play as Jar-Jar Binks, or Jabba the Hutt? Let us know in the comments below!
