Pokemon GO: What the Rustling Leaves Mean

A rustle in the bushes?
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

As you wander around outside and keep checking Pokemon GO to see if anything interesting is coming up, you may have noticed some rustling leaves. It turns out they seem to be one of the game’s biggest mysteries, but we’ve got you covered.

The leaves are actually a similar kind of thing to the rustling grass of the normal Pokemon games. It suggests that there may be a Pokemon nearby, though you’ll have to make sure to follow it if you see it moving. Sometimes, it may be that the Pokemon gets away and rustles somewhere else. It’s unfortunate, but hey, you gotta take the good with the bad when you’re a Pokemon trainer. You’ll get it next time.

There have also been reports of sightings of golden leaves appearing in Pokemon GO. We cannot confirm this ourselves, but if you do spot them, we’d suggest sprinting to their location immediately. Who knows what they may be concealing.
