Nioh – Getting Purple Gear

Recommended Videos

Unlike the Souls games, Nioh features a loot system that’s rather Diablo-esque. Instead of getting gear pickups at set locations in the world, they can be acquired as random drops from enemies. Listed below are a few ways to help you get the rare purple gear in the game:

Farming enemies: All enemies have a chance of dropping loot, the bigger oni more so than the regular mobs. If you’re looking to farm for Amrita and gear at the same time, a good method is to look for a shrine that’s near an oni spawn and farm them until you get the drops of purple gear that you want. If you’re just looking for gear, however, this isn’t very efficient.

Twilight missions: After clearing a main mission, you’ll unlock a Twilight version of that same mission. Twilight missions are much tougher, but they do give you pretty good rewards for clearing them, and you have a chance of getting better loot drops as well.

Farming Revenants: This is, hands down, the best way to farm purple gear. When you find the grave site of another player, check the site to see their gear rarity. If they have purple gear, feel free to summon their Revenant and fight them repeatedly until they drop the gear you want. If you come across the grave site of someone on your friends list, you have a much better chance at obtaining their full set of gear.

That’s just a few ways to get purple gear in Nioh. Be sure to check back with Twinfinite and our wiki for more tips, tricks, and information on Nioh.
