Many games are starting to get winter updates around this time of year, and Mortal Kombat 11 is no exception. MK 11 will be getting festive this holiday season with two free seasonal events.

Both updates are limited-time-only events that can be accessed within the Towers of Time mode. They contain themed konsumables, modifiers, and various other in-game rewards.

Mortal Kombat 11’s first free winter event, titled “Winter Wonderland,” will be live from Dec. 22 to Dec. 27. It’ll contain three Towers, each with several themed surprises.

These include a number of modifiers that sound difficult to picture in-game, such as: falling Killer Kanes, Sledding Tarkatans, Parachuting Ginger Deadmen, Exploding Snowmen, Christmas Trees, Menorahs, Dreidels and Shooting Stars.

“Ring in the New Year” is MK 11’s second free event, and it will be available to play from Dec. 28 to Jan. 2. This one will also come with three Towers.

This slight oxymoron of festive violence will include equally hard-to-imagine modifiers that include Disco Ball, Champagne Bottles, Party Poppers, Fireworks and a New Year’s Digital Countdown Clock.

Those who love to grind out ranked matches should know that the game’s seasonal ranked mode, Kombat League, starts its new season on Jan. 14. The current season, Season of Konquest, will come to a close on Jan. 7.

The winter is full of new content for MK 11, as these holiday events are slowly leading up to the release of the Joker on Jan. 28 as well.
