Unlock Patrols
End Game Activities You Need to Do After Beating Destiny 2
So you’ve beaten Destiny 2’s story and obtained vengeance for everything that went down at the Tower. You know, the whole losing your light before getting kicked in the face and left to die. Unlike many other games where the credits roll and you’re all done, there’s actually plenty that unlocks after completing that “main” part of Destiny 2’s narrative.
There are plenty of new opportunities for you and your fireteam to further your legends, as well as plenty of reasons for you to repeat some things you may have already done. Let’s get into it starting with Patrols.
Some of you may have done this prior to taking on the last mission. But for those of you who didn’t, this is a perfect time. You must complete a mission for Cayde-6 in the EDZ. This will unlock Patrols on all available planets, so it’s definitely worth the 10-15 minutes it takes to run through the objectives.
Patrols are a great way to gather tokens, glimmer, and experience for end game. This will help you more quickly unlock legendary packages from vendors as well as Bright Engrams (which have ton of sweet aesthetic rewards). So yeah, before doing anything else in Destiny 2 make sure you take care of this really fast.Â
Meditation

No, we’re not telling you to sit down and focus on your inner peace (though that’s not necessarily a bad idea). Mediation is actually something in Destiny 2. It’s the game’s means of replaying missions, and it lets you earn Vanguard Research Tokens which unlock legendary rewards from Ikora Ray.
You unlock this once you complete the final story mission, and you are given three to choose from at a time. You can replay the missions with friends, taking advantage of all your new powers and working towards some powerful gear.Â
Strike it Up

You also unlock the ability to earn Vanguard Tactician Tokens from Commander Zavalla after beating the story. His tokens are tied to completing strikes. You don’t need to accept any bounties or complete any special objectives. Simply start running through strikes and you’ll slowly obtain these rewards.
Once you have enough tokens you can turn them into Zavalla either at the Tower or the Farm. Remember, turning in more tokens at once levels the vendors up faster, so get yourself a healthy little stack.Â
There Be Treasure

Cayde-6, always an individual looking for cool things to grab, starts selling new items after you beat Destiny 2 called Treasure Maps. Each one comes with a clue and a general location (marked as a spade on your map). These can hold some very valuable rewards, which will definitely help with getting up to that Power level cap of 300.
We must warn you, though. Cayde-6 isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, Â so the clues leave quite a bit to be desired. Still, a talented Guardian such as yourself should have no problems collecting all of his interesting stashes.Â
Exotic Quests

Once you beat Destiny 2, a slew of new questing opportunities become available for players to undertake. The best part is that a lot of them lead to exotic quests which net you some sweet weapons such as the Rat King, Sturm, and what may be the new raid exotic.
The quests are located on your map as blue banners with white crowns on them. They don’t say exotic quests (because they’re aren’t exactly) but completing each string grants you an item that does lead toward one of those coveted weapons. You may as well get them out the way to earn tons of experience while also building up your armory.Â
Raid and Trials Prep

A lot of your time after completing Destiny 2’s story should be dedicated to Raid and Trials preparation. The max Power level in the game is currently 300, something that you should strive for if you want to really dominate Destiny 2’s end game.
You’ll definitely want to farm Heroic Public Events and the activities mentioned before. But also, weekly events such as Flashpoint, Call to Arms, and Nightfall are how you push past 260 Power. They drop rewards known as Powerful Gear, which are just really strong legendaries and sometimes exotics. Definitely put in your effort there while also working to earn more legendary packages that you can convert to shards.
Before you know it, you’ll be ready for the next wave of challenges that Bungie has in store for you. For more on Destiny 2, be sure to check out our wiki.
