Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: How to Beat Great Ape Nappa and Vegeta Easily

This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 follows iconic moments in the series history, and has you saving the universe by making sure that everything goes according to plan. This of course means that the Saiyan Saga is one of the time periods you’ll go through, with the famous battle against Nappa and Vegeta spear-heading it. Unfortunately for you, the time change has now made it so that not only Vegeta is in his Great Ape form, but Nappa is, as well. You’ll need to face both of them, and it can be a tricky fight.

First thing’s first, forget their tails. Don’t go after them. It’s almost entirely useless. The trick you’re going to want to do is charge up your ki blasts (by holding circle or B) and then letting go to unleash. You do this a couple of times and you’ll cause Nappa to go into his break stance. Focus on defeating Nappa at first. Make sure once he’s in his break stance, you hit him with everything you have. For me, for example, I went up close and personal and used basic attacks, as that is what I had leveled up. But you might be more effective at a range. Whatever gets him down faster is better. Keep in mind that once his stamina bar raises back up, he will not be in break stance anymore and it’s best to fly away fast before he strikes you with an area of effect attack.

Once he’s done, Vegeta will get a bit pissed off and will be who you face with Goku. Just continue the routine of using your charged up ki attacks to get him in a break stance, and then pummel him while he’s down. Soon enough, Krillin and Gohan will join in and try to mess up his tail. They’re all useless. Remember to dodge his mouth blasts as well as rock throws. Just keep doing your thing and he’ll be down in no time.
