Oh… Sir! The Insult Simulator

Chances are you’ve taken one look at the title of this indie game and are incredibly confused exactly how something like this would work. Well, it turns out that it’s actually pretty darn fun to play. You’re tasked with assembling witty insults from different strings of words and continuations to defeat your opponents. Just like a fighter… except with insults.
You can put your insulting skills to the test in both an offline tournament mode against AI, or head online and become the best potty-mouthed player the internet has ever seen. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Oh… Sir! giving it a four out of five. While the game isn’t particularly extensive, we felt it was “a blast to play if only to see how ridiculous and over-the-top your insults can become.” You can check out our full review here.
Reus

Despite having been out on numerous platforms for quite some time, October 2016 finally saw indie god game Reus come to PS4 and Xbox One. Put in control of powerful giants that help you to create the shape and terrain of a planet, the player will have to enrich their planet and help it prosper. You’ll also have mankind to deal with. While you can provide them with the tools and materials to thrive, giving them too much could see them become too greedy and lead to the destruction of your planet.
Reus is a great God game for those who want to try out something a little bit different. While some of its mechanics can be a little difficult to grasp, overcoming these and succeeding provides an incredibly satisfying sense of accomplishment. You can check out our full review here.
Thumper

Thumper is a game that’s quite unlike anything else out there at the moment. Yes, it’s a rhythm-action game set in a creepy, neon world, with PSVR functionality, but that’s not what makes it so unique. Instead, it’s the fact that Thumper doesn’t hold your hand through it’s fast-paced, sharp-turning world. You’ve just got to learn the mechanics, master hand-eye coordination, and hope for the best.
With every successful move that you pull off, the booming soundtrack to each level is enhanced, as sparks and groovy neon colors flash around your peripheral vision. In VR, Thumper is an incredibly immersive experience that far outshines playing it on a TV. While the whole thing can be pretty exhausting, and incredibly tricky, it’s one of the most compelling rhythm-action games available for PS4, and one of the best launch games that released alongside PSVR in October. Aragami

Putting you in control of an undead assassin with the ability to control the shadows, indie title Aragami will see you unearthing a story about twin souls bound by destiny as you take part in a battle between light and shadow. Being an assassin capable of controlling the shadows, Aragami’s gameplay allows you to choose your playstyle and truly feel like a badass whichever way you opt to tackle your objective.
Whether you want to fight your way through your enemies or sneak on by going undetected, the game allows you to do so without punishing you for either. Both feel like viable options with a suitable control scheme that makes each a joy to play. While the enemy AI can be a little bit dumb from time to time and the camera controls have a tendency to be more of a hindrance than a help, Aragami is a stylish action game well worth your time.
