Best 5 Star Characters to Wish for in Genshin Impact 3.2

It's time to lose your 50/50s again.

The release of Sumeru into Genshin Impact has opened up a completely new set of reactions with the Dendro Element, expanding the roster of powerful teams for players to clear content with.

However, only three Dendro characters are available for players: Collei, Tighnari, and the Dendro Traveler. While Tighnari has carved out his own niche as a Dendro DPS bow-user that thrives in spread teams, Collei and the Dendro Traveler are more suited for supportive roles.

Furthermore, the recent release of Nilou and her kit being geared towards teams that consist of only Dendro and Hydro characters, it’s shown how few Dendro characters are currently in the game, and how limited Nilou’s team composition options currently are.

With that in mind, here are some things to consider regarding the four five-star characters coming to the limited wish banners inGenshin Impact’s 3.2 update, and whether or not they are worth wishing for.

Best Genshin Impact 3.2 First Half Characters to Wish For

Nahida

As the fourth dendro character to be introduced into the game, many have high expectations for Nahida, especially since she’s also the fourth archon that’s become playable in the game.

In regards to her in-game performance, that’s yet to be seen, unless you’ve looked into the leaks of Nahida’s kit or have had early access to try out her abilities and in-game interactions. However, with the trend that miHoYo has upheld with major storyline characters having their power levels tied to an extent of their canonical status, it’s safe to say that Nahida will be able to live up to the high hopes that many have for her.

So, is Nahida worth wishing for? Yes, it’s safe to say she’s worth wishing for.

Combat-wise, she will be a great addition to any account that is looking to really explore and enjoy the limits of what dendro has brought into the game. Furthermore, all of the archons so far in Genshin Impact’s storyline — Venti, Zhongli, and the Raiden Shogun — have proven to be very worthwhile targets to save your Primogems for.

However, it’s wrong to call Nahida a “must-pull” character, so don’t feel overly pressured to wish for her. In fact, none of the archons are must-pull characters.

In Genshin Impact, there are certain damage thresholds that must be reached in order to clear the majority of content in both the overworld and spiral abyss at varying world levels. Those damage thresholds can usually be reached by the use of elemental reactions and various supportive sets that have proven to be invaluable to clearing content, like the 4-piece Viridescent Venerer set for all anemo supports in a vast majority of content.

While the 4-piece Deepwood Memories artifact set (which is almost guaranteed to be Nahida’s best-in-slot set) functions in a similar way to the 4-piece Viridescent Venerer set, dendro reactions require a slightly different method of character building than reactions that have been in the game since release. Melt, vaporize, electro-charge, and overload are all fairly straightforward to understand with some explaining and experimentation, while the transformative reactions that dendro revolves around have a slightly higher knowledge cap.

Furthermore, nearly all content can still be cleared in both the overworld and spiral abyss by relying on non-dendro reaction types. This makes Nahida very valuable to have for an account, but that doesn’t make her a must-pull character as previously mentioned.

Yoimiya

With how long it was between Yoimiya’s first release in version 2.0 and her first re-run in version 2.8, it feels a bit odd to see her back on the wish banner so soon. Nonetheless, Yoimiya is a unique pyro main DPS character that is unique in her own way and excels at dealing very high single-target damage.

A vaporize team is Yoimiya’s most user-friendly team, but exceptionally distinguished individuals can dip their toes into overload teams with Fischl and Beidou if a character like Venti is slotted in to group enemies that can be displaced or simply apply the 4-piece Viridescent Venerer set’s effect.

Yoimiya’s weapon alternatives apart from her signature weapon are quite flexible, with a high refinement Rust and Slingshot with additional attack buffs from Bennett, Yun Jin, and supportive artifact sets like Noblesse Oblige and Tenacity of the Millelith providing competitive and appealing alternatives in the event that you were unlucky enough to not get Thundering Pulse from the weapon banner. Furthermore, Rust is one of the four-star weapons in the upcoming weapon banner, making the value from pulling on it quite high.

As for Yoimiya’s power level as a pyro main DPS character, she is one of the better characters currently available, and is only outmatched by Hu Tao in terms of strength.

So, is Yoimiya worth pulling for? Kind of. All pyro characters in the game that aren’t named Hu Tao, Xiangling, or Bennett don’t really have that sort of “WOW!!” factor that makes them highly coveted.

Furthermore, with Bennett being a featured four-star character in the first half banners, many who don’t have Bennett will find themselves nabbing him for the first time or getting his constellations, which are all amazing and only make his already wildly versatile kit even better.

To make things more grim, the release of dendro didn’t buff pyro in the way that many pyro enthusiasts had hoped, with burning being a very underwhelming reaction damage-wise, and burgeon literally coming at the cost of character health if not protected by a shield.

With that in mind, Hu Tao hasn’t seen a rerun in quite a long time, which makes Yoimiya a decent wish target if you’re in search of a strong pyro main DPS character to add to your account. However, similarly to Nahida, Yoimiya is not a must-pull character. She is a great addition to a roster, but by no means required.

Best Genshin Impact 3.2 Second Half Characters to Wish For

Yae Miko

Yae Miko is finally getting her first rerun in the second half of version 3.2. As an electro sub-DPS whose kit is primarily focused on dealing damage while off field, she was almost immediately compared to Fischl, one of the most versatile electro units in the game currently. She is also a four star character, meaning that you’re more likely to get the Prinzessin der Verurteilung than Raiden Ei’s familiar, who is not a featured five star character on the standard banner.

This doesn’t mean Yae Miko is by any means bad or a bad pull target, but the value that she brings isn’t nearly as high as other characters like Nahida or Tartaglia. She got a power spike with the release of dendro, but unlike Fischl, Yae’s value didn’t skyrocket, at least to the extent of her electro counterpart. Yae is still very useful and can put out great damage, but investing in five star units with only a few marginal advantages over their four star counterparts is hard to recommend.

So, is Yae Miko worth wishing for? Not really, at least when comparing what other five star characters are on the limited banners. If you really enjoy Yae Miko’s gameplay and/or character design and missed her first banner in version 2.5, now is a great time to snag her. However, it’s hard to recommend wishing for Yae if you don’t fall under that criteria.

Tartaglia

It’s been quite a while since Tartaglia has been in the wish banner, which looking back was quite odd, since the 11th Fatui Harbinger seemed to be getting constant reruns over a year ago.

Tartaglia pre-dendro release was already a fantastic hydro main DPS, and is an essential part of the international team, one of the strongest teams in the game in terms of damage. He, along with Xiangling, Bennett, and Kazuha or Sucrose can allow you to breeze through content without breaking much of a sweat.

So, is Tartaglia worth wishing for? If you don’t have him and are in search of a hydro main DPS character, you’d be hard pressed to find another damage dealer on a similar level as him. He’s a great pull target that’s fairly easy to build, but requires some time investment into his personal combat abilities to unlock his full potential. Overall, he’s one of the better characters to wish for if you’re a newer player or neglected his previous three wish banner appearances.

That concludes our dive into which 5 star characters are worth pulling for in Genshin Impact’s 3.2 update. Nahida is the clear frontrunner of who is the best value character to pull for as the newest archon to be added to the game, while Tartaglia and Yoimiya are solid runner-up candidates if you’re not interested in pulling for another dendro character. That leaves Yae Miko as the lowest value pull target, but she still has plenty of uses as an off-field damage dealer.
